Games Wanted Online Help

Welcome to the Michigan High School Athletic Association Games Wanted Web Site. This interactive site will allow member senior high schools to post openings in the schedules of the 28 interscholastic sports sponsored by the MHSAA.
Lists are updated in real time, and clickable links to the listed schools provide phone numbers and contacts at the click of a mouse. Member schools are asked to maintain their dates as often as possible to provide the most up-to-date information for all visitors to this site.

Viewing Open Dates

To View Open Dates no login is necessary. Simply click the link to View Open Dates.

The links are self-explanatory. You will be presented with a list of sports to choose from. Scroll down the list to your desired sport and click the level (Varsity, Junior Varsity, Freshman, 8th Grade, 7th Grade or 7th & 8th Grades combined) for a listing of all open dates for that particular sport and level.

The number or letter in parentheses following the school name indicates the Division or Class that school participates in within the given sport.

Notice that each school listed on the Open Dates page is linked. Users are encouraged to click on the school name to activate an information box for that school containing the name of the school's athletic director, athletic director email, school address, phone and fax number. After viewing the school information box, users may return to the open dates list by clicking on the "Close" button, or by clicking the "Back" button on their browser.

To return to the main menu after viewing open dates, click the "Back" button on your browser.

Add or Remove Open Dates for Your School

Adding and Removing Open Dates requires schools to login. Schools are asked to enter their standard MHSAA school I.D. number in the top box, then will be required to enter their password below. All schools should have received a password in a separate mailing. If you do not have a password, please contact the MHSAA at (517) 332-5046.

Upon initial login, schools will be prompted to enter a new, more user-friendly password, and then repeat the password for security purposes. Please keep this password on file, as your new password will be the one that allows access to the site in the future. Be careful to share this password only with appointed school personnel.

Removing Open Dates for Your School
Once logged in, the first screen displays current dates listed for your school. At this time, users have the option to delete any of the dates by using the 'Delete' icon at the right-hand side of the page. To delete any date(s), simply click the appropriate 'Delete' icon on the corresponding line. If schools do not wish to add dates at this time, click the Finished button to return to the Games Wanted home page.

Adding Open Dates for your School
As with removing open dates, the screen will display current dates listed for your school. If you do not wish to remove any dates, scroll to the bottom of the list and choose one of the following: Add Boys Date or Add Girls Date. The next screen offers a scroll-down list of sports to choose from, along with a choice of school years, and check boxes for the level:

Freshman, Junior Varsity, Varsity for High Schools
7th & 8th Grades combined, 7th Grade, 8th Grade and Freshman for Junior High/Middle Schools

Choose the sport and school year that fits your needs. Note: Be careful to pick the correct year. For instance, if you need a baseball game in 2006, you would select the 2005-2006 school year; not 2006-2007.

For the sport level--Freshman, Junior Varsity, Varsity--you may choose one, two or all three levels at the same time. However, you must choose at least one of the check boxes before submitting. If the submit button is clicked without choosing a level, you will be prompted to do so.

Once you've made your choices and clicked the submit button, the Open Date Information screen is displayed. Here, users may type the date in the box supplied. If typing the date, be sure to use numerals, and always include the year (i.e.--2/15/01). Better yet, click on the calendar icon to the right of the Contest Date text box and select the date from the calendar.

Description: Use this feature if it is necessary to add a brief description of the open date. For example, schools may want to indicate Home or Away; Need Schools for Invit; Doubleheader, etc. in this box. Space is limited to 50 characters. Please use this field only if necessary and be breif.

If you only wish to add one date, then hit the submit button. A message will appear thanking schools for using the site, and giving schools options to continue using the site, or return to the MHSAA Home Page. To verify that dates were successfully added, users may choose View open dates once more before leaving the site.

Those wishing to add several dates should choose Continue adding to return to the Open Dates page for your school. Choose Add Boys Date or Add Girls Date and repeat the process. By going back to the Open Dates page, users will also be able to verify that their dates have been updated. After entering the last date, click the submit button. A message will appear thanking schools for using the site, and giving schools options to continue using the site, or return to the MHSAA Home Page. To verify that dates were successfully added, users may choose View Open Dates once more before leaving the site.
